Ben Butler, APR

Ben Butler, APR is the founder of Top Hat — an award-winning design and marketing communications agency with offices in Pittsburgh and St. Petersburg, FL.

Butler has built a career on entrepreneurial endeavors — from bootstrapping Top Hat to piloting software startups to most-recently starting a craft brewery in Pittsburgh — and PRSSA/PRSA involvement. He has served as a PRSSA National Professional Adviser (2018-2020), PRSA Pittsburgh Accreditation Director, and PRSA Pittsburgh Chapter President.

Butler has been inducted into the PRSSA National Hall of Fame, invited to serve on the Forbes Agency Council, and has been named to numerous lists, including the Pittsburgh Business Times 30 Under 30 and North Allegheny Under 40 Distinguished Alumni. Other honors include being named PRSA PR Entrepreneur of the Year, an Incline Under 40 Communicator, and one of Spin Sucks 10 PR Professionals to Follow.

He is also Accredited in Public Relations (APR), a distinction held by less than 20-percent of all communicators globally, and is a Certified Cicerone®, the beer industry’s equivalent of a Sommelier.
